Serves: 12โ€ƒ|โ€ƒTime: 30 minutes

๐ŸŽ’ The Perfect Camp Meal
Walking Tacos are a fun, portable, and filling meal โ€” ideal for high-energy days like white water rafting or trail work. Each person gets their own bag of chips and fills it up with their favorite taco fixings. No plates. No mess. Just shake, fork, and go!

๐Ÿงพ Ingredients:

  • 12 individual-sized bags of Fritos or Doritos

  • 2 lbs ground beef or turkey

  • 1 large onion, diced

  • 2 packets taco seasoning

  • 2 cups shredded lettuce

  • 2 large tomatoes, diced

  • 1 jar salsa

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 can sliced jalapeรฑos (optional)

  • 1 can sliced black olives (optional)

  • 1 can refried beans (optional)

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ Instructions:

  1. Cook the meat:
Brown the ground beef or turkey in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and diced onion. Cook for 5 more minutes, until the onions are soft.

  2. Prepare the toppings:
While the meat is cooking, shred the lettuce, dice the tomatoes, and open any optional cans. Arrange all toppings in bowls or containers for easy serving.

  3. Assemble the tacos:
Hand each person a chip bag. Theyโ€™ll open it, spoon in the hot meat, and then top it with whatever they like โ€” lettuce, tomato, cheese, salsa, sour cream, and more.

โœจ Pro Tip:
Let campers build their own and eat straight from the bag with a fork โ€” itโ€™s minimal cleanup, maximum fun, and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
