Glory Ridge began as a vision of George Moore. While walking through the mountains of North Carolina, he paused along what is now known as the ridge. Although he was several miles from town he could hear the distinct sound of children laughing. He knew then that God had found a place for George to start a youth camp. The land was aquired from the Goldsmith family and the Lord set workers to the task of building the camp facilities.

The camp is opened in the spring and is available for week long missions into the surrounding county in June, July and August.

Much has changed since the camp was first laid out. The original kitchen now serves as a cabin for resident summer counselors, there is a bath-house with two showers in both the girls and boys rest rooms, and a dining pavilion that is attached to the new kitchen.

Many things have not changed. There are still mosquitoes and the occasional black snake to watch out for, the air is as clear and fresh as it ever has been, and the 'lookout' and waterfall are still the favorite spots for visiting youth.

The most important aspect of this camp has never changed. It is still a place where the lost come to find God when they are tired of fighting in this world alone. It is still a place where the warrior can come to bask in the glory of God's presense to rejuvinate. It is still a place where youth of all spriritual levels can come and fellowship and reach out to each other unlike anywhere else.
